VENTRILOQUIM is a new, wide-ranging collective of musicians, mostly based in the St. Louis area, making music via collaborative file-sharing.
This is the first song to be released by VENTRILOQUIM, constructed by two members and proud children of North County, and is a reworked cover version of the 1991 UK hit "It's Grim Up North" by The Justified Ancients of Mu Mu (aka The KLF).

Our people ARE our city. We urge each of you to take a long, hard, unflinching look at what is happening in each of the municipalities named in the lyrics to this song- the conditions, mechanisms, and structures in place. Each one of them deserves the same level of scrutiny that Ferguson is getting right now. Ask yourself how we got here. Ask yourself how we can make it better. Leave no stone unturned. Stare directly into the sun. That is the true duty of citizens and patriots. You owe it to your hometown, and your hometown owes it to you. Wherever you think this story ends, it goes much, much further.
Please spread this message far and wide. If you can afford to contribute, please do so. All proceeds from the sale of this recording will be donated to the Ferguson Youth Initiative, Missourians Organizing for Reform and Empowerment, and Food Not Bombs St. Louis.
